Self Contained Sunday Morning Classes:
Young STARS, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Room 105
This class is designed for children between 5-11 years of age who have difficulty participating in regular children’s programs. Our trained teachers encourage students' understanding by using visuals and hands-on learning. Students are allowed to participate as they are able in a calm and structured environment. Some sensory integration techniques are employed in the classroom.
Teen STARS, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Room C003
Students with developmental disabilities between 12-17 years of age learn Bible lessons through hands-on learning, role plays, music and crafts.
Adult STARS,9:30-12:00 p.m. Rooms C101 & C103
Our class for developmentally disabled adults, 18 years and older, uses a curriculum that is specifically designed to meet their needs. Activities include a Bible lesson, Scripture memory, prayer, singing and crafts.
Inclusion Program:
Some students with disabilities learn best by participating in our regular programs. Our Inclusion Coordinator works with the families and the program directors to optimize the participation of these students. A "buddy" may be assigned to provide assistance as needed.
