Essentials for Sexual Purity

Men’s Mentoring

A great way to equip men is through mentoring relationships. This is a unique opportunity for a man to connect one-on-one with another man and walk deep together in God’s word. This seven week session covers many practical life issues in an intimate and focused setting. Our next session will begin October 7 and run for seven weeks. Each session includes 20 minutes of instruction and one hour of 1-on-1 mentoring time. If you are interested contact Harper.

Compass

Compass is a fellowship of men who remind one another of the Bible’s teaching on sexuality, are available for another as a supportive team of brothers, hold each other accountable and provide a safe, confidential place to share.

This is a meeting to model and experience both the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. The group is open only to those who want to meet for the purpose of encouraging sexual purity. Due to the nature of these issues we insist on strict confidentiality. For information and meeting days/times, send an email to compass@college-church.org, or call Jim Elwell, (630) 841.9513.

Men’s Conference

Our weekend conference is held every other year. Our next conference will be in the early part fo 2013.

To engage men who need Christ

We all need Christ. We are called by the Holy Spirit to present ourselves before God as holy and acceptable. The church is called to reach out to men with the gospel. When a man gives his life to Christ, God can use him to reach his wife, family, church, and community. God can use a wholly committed man to impact nations.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”  Romans 12:1-2  ESV

To encourage men to pursue Christ

To pursue Christ is to follow him passionately, persistently, completely. It is to answer Jesus’ call to “follow me.” It is to seek to deepen our relationship with the only one who can bring true purpose, change and peace to our lives, and empower us to be fully alive in Christ and impact our world. How does one pursue Christ? By his grace we seek him in prayer, diligent study of his word, and through building meaningful relationships that are marked by transparency, honesty and unity.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”  Hebrews 10:23-25  ESV

To equip men to live for Christ

To live as Christ, is to live a transformed life. Living for Christ affects every area of life including family, worship, finances, relationships, work, recreation, goals and service.  To equip is to train-up men through teaching God’s word, to model and to mentor.  We are to follow the instructions given to us through the Lord Jesus.

“Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification.”

1 Thessalonians 4:1-3a  ESV
