STAMP

It is the goal of the Board of Missions that half of our adult congregation has a cross-cultural ministry experience. We believe that the men and women who participate in such an experience begin to develop a greater Christian maturity and become not only more committed to global missions but also more effective church members.

Why We are Passionate about Missions

Purpose

The purpose of the College Church Short Term Adult Missions Program (STAMP) is to foster greater awareness and understanding of missions within the congregation of College Church by providing opportunities for adults to participate in cross-cultural ministry. STAMP teams are sent in response to a request for assistance from a College Church missionary and/or national partner.

Goals: Serve, Learn, Grow, Continue

Every STAMP team has four goals:

  • SERVE our partners. Each team’s primary objective is to serve our missionaries and national partners – to propel their ministry forward through our assistance.
  • LEARN about the world. Every team member will learn about the culture & language of their host country, the state of the national church, and the nature of cross-cultural work. These trips also foster closer relationships between members of College Church and our colleagues worldwide.
  • GROW in Christ. Team members are challenged to grow in their faith in Christ, their confidence in sharing the Gospel, and their awareness of how God is establishing and strengthening his church worldwide.
  • CONTINUE in missions. Serving on a missions team is another step in a lifetime of missions involvement. After your trip, continue to explore ways that you can be involved in missions that maximize your gifts, skills and interests.

Team member responsibilities:

  • Complete a STAMP application and arrange an interview with the STAMP committee. (Note: STAMP applicants under 18 years of age at the time of the trip require a recommendation letter from their youth pastor, adult small group leader, or Sunday school teacher, in addition to the normal STAMP application.)
  • Develop a team of prayer partners.
  • Actively engage in the team’s pre-trip preparation program.
  • Raise sufficient funds to meet the proposed budget.
  • Complete an evaluation after the project is complete.

STAMP France (May 19-31)

This team of STARS from College Church’s disabilities ministry will travel to France to be a witness for Christ and to catalyze the development of church-based disability ministries. The team will share through music and testimonies in public and local church settings. Parents and guardians will accompany STARS team members. This team is by invitation only. Team leader: Dawn Clark

STAMP Dominican Republic (June 11-18)

Continuing our long-term partnership with Kids Alive International's ministry to at-risk children in the Dominican Republic, the team will serve in the city of Jarabacoa by working construction half the day and ministering directly to children the other half of the day. Team members will experience firsthand exposure to extreme poverty, heart-breaking family situations and the joy of serving "the least of these among us" in the name of Jesus. Team leader: Drew Grant

STAMP Brazil (August 12-21)

Discipleship, evangelism, service, and partnership are the core elements of this trip. Work together with Brazilian missionaries and members of local churches to share the gospel at local public schools, day camps and the Word of Life Community Center—a relief center for needy children. Get to know students at the Word of Life Seminary through one-on-one and small group interaction. You’ll come away with a new appreciation for the ministry of one of our oldest partner seminaries and the work of College Church missionaries, Dave and Mary-Ann Cox and Steve and Marian Cox. Team leaders: Greg and Jody Maas
