Stoke [stohk]: To add fuel to a fire and stir it up to make it burn more intensely
Fuel and intensify your passion for the world. Learn about short- and mid-term opportunities to serve around the world. You can be a part of a Short-term Adult Missions Project (STAMP) team in the summer of 2011. Maybe you’re interested in a one-, two- or three-year opportunity to serve in Asia, Indonesia or France. For more information about opportunities God may be opening for you this year, contact Marilyn Papierski or 630-668-0878, ext. 191.
STAMP 2011 Teams STAMP France (May 19-31) This team of STARS from College Church’s disabilities ministry will travel to France to be a witness for Christ and to catalyze the development of church-based disability ministries. The team will share through music and testimonies in public and local church settings. Parents and guardians will accompany STARS team members. This team is by invitation only. Team leader: Dawn Clark
STAMP Dominican Republic (June 11-18) Continuing our long-term partnership with Kids Alive International's ministry to at-risk children in the Dominican Republic, the team will serve in the city of Jarabacoa by working construction half the day and ministering directly to children the other half of the day. Team members will experience firsthand exposure to extreme poverty, heart-breaking family situations and the joy of serving "the least of these among us" in the name of Jesus. Team leader: Drew Grant STAMP Bulgaria (July 7-21) This trip is not for the faint-hearted! Serve with seminary students of the Bulgaria Evangelical Theological Institute as they lead a youth adventure trek into the mountains of Pirin National Park. Hiking each day to the next mountain hut is only one of many opportunities for evangelism and discipleship in this “moving camp.” Team members must be 18 or older and comfortable with a rustic camp setting. Team leader: Mike Magnussen
STAMP Brazil (August 12-21) Discipleship, evangelism, service, and partnership are the core elements of this trip. Work together with Brazilian missionaries and members of local churches to share the gospel at local public schools, day camps and the Word of Life Community Center—a relief center for needy children. Get to know students at the Word of Life Seminary through one-on-one and small group interaction. You’ll come away with a new appreciation for the ministry of one of our oldest partner seminaries and the work of College Church missionaries, Dave and Mary-Ann Cox and Steve and Marian Cox. Team leader: Greg & Jody Maas
